Irisity’s partnership with Intel® AI Builders optimizes the IRIS software and increases performance
Intel AI Builders is a partner program for tech-enablement, co-marketing, matchmaking, and investment. It is an enterprise ecosystem of industry-leading independent software vendors, system integrators, original equipment manufacturers, and enterprise end-users who have a shared mission to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across Intel platforms.
During the first half of 2021, the Irisity R&D team has completed the first phase of tech-enablement together with Intel.
“We have already seen great benefits for Irisity by joining the program”, says Stefan Nilsson, Irisity Computer Vision Specialist.
The optimization improves the performance of IRIS SaaS solution on the 2nd and 3rd generation Xeon Scalable processors by optimizing CV model inference using the Intel OpenVINO toolkit. The optimization aims at improving the throughput of model inference thereby making the inference pipeline more cost-efficient.
“We have decided to start using OpenVINO for all sites where there is no hardware accelerator available. The optimized models give a clear benefit both for basic inference time, as well as for throughput. Using OpenVINO will also enable us to potentially use integrated Intel GPUs, which is of great interest to Irisity.”, continues Stefan.
The Intel® AI portfolio includes hardware and software solutions that span use cases and edge-to-cloud implementations. Members gain valuable access to technical enablement resources, co-marketing opportunities and are considered for matchmaking and Intel Capital investment to help drive the adoption of AI solutions in the enterprise.
“From a pure R&D perspective it has been very valuable to be able to evaluate the hardware with support from Intel”, Stefan concludes.
