IRIS+ R2, 2024
Enhancing IRIS+™ with New Features and Algorithms
We are excited to announce the launch of the Irisity R2 Update, bringing significant enhancements and new features to our IRIS+ software. These advancements are designed to improve user experience, provide more accurate data, and expand the capabilities of our monitoring and analysis tools.
Crowd Counting
Count crowds of up to 10,000 people in a frame, providing accurate quantitative data for improved monitoring.
BI Dashboard
Personalize and visualize statistical data and trends, offering a clear overview of activities and alarm behaviors.
Search for Similar
Track instances of specific individuals in scenes through the search module for advanced identification.
Face Recognition
Detect and identify faces in scenes, aiding in spotting individuals associated with specific activities.
Anonymization
Apply pixelation for privacy, ensuring anonymization with grayscale or color modes that cannot be undone.
Crowd Counting – New statistics application
Crowd Counting will now be able to count up to 10,000 people in a single frame, providing customers with quantitative data across sites. This upgrade significantly improves the monitoring experience for users needing precise crowd counts.
Benefits
- Count up to 10,000 people in a frame, providing precise crowd size measurements for better resource management.
- Improve surveillance capabilities by accurately tracking large gatherings, ensuring safety and security at events.
How it works
Detect and count the number of people within a specified frame. When activated, it continuously analyzes video feeds to identify individuals and provide real-time crowd statistics.
The system updates every 10 seconds to ensure consistency and accuracy in detection. For smaller groups of 10 people or fewer, the general grouping rule is used to maintain precise monitoring.
Crowd Density – New event detection capability
Crowd Density will detect crowds starting from 15 people in one scene, an improvement from the old occupancy rule which was limited to detecting up to 10 people at a time. This ensures better detection and monitoring of larger crowds.
Benefits
- Detects crowds with a minimum of 15 people, enhancing monitoring in densely populated areas.
- Provides reliable data on crowd density, aiding in better management of public safety and resource allocation.
How it works
When Crowd Density is activated, events are generated and collected in the monitor tab when a configured crowd size is present. The general grouping rule should be used for detecting crowds of 10 people or fewer. Clicking on an event will display the detected crowd, with frames updating every 10 seconds to maintain detection consistency.
Introducing the Dashboard
The R2 update also introduces the Business Intelligence Dashboard, a powerful new feature for data visualization and trend analysis.
Benefits
- Personalized Data Visualization: Customize the visualization of statistical data and trends from all scenes and events.
- Complete Customization: Tailor the data to any method of visualization, providing a clear picture of overall activities and alarm behaviors across all sites.
How It Works
Customers can edit the configuration and calculation of alarm data by selecting the data source and visualization mode.
The dashboard can be saved and used to analyze trends over specific time ranges. Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Metabase will be beneficial. Internal training on setup can be scheduled upon request.
Search for Similar
Customers can now track specific individuals in scenes using the “Search for Similar” feature in the search module.
Benefits
- Ideal for applications requiring detailed person tracking and monitoring.
- Provides an additional option for in-depth tracking and monitoring through the investigation module.
How It Works
With “Search for similar”, operators can perform an investigation query of a specific person. The system then searches all video frames based on general criteria such as clothes or colors, to find instances that share these attributes similarities with the initial query.
Face Recognition
The investigation module now includes face recognition capabilities with Corsight, enhancing the detection and identification of individuals in scenes.
Benefits
- Accurately detects and identifies faces in scenes, helping to spot individuals associated with specific activities.
- Assists in monitoring and tracking people in real-time, enhancing overall security and situational awareness.
How it works
Facial Recognition analyzes video feeds to detect and match faces against a database of known individuals. When a face is detected, it compares facial features to identify the person. This process helps in real-time monitoring and identification, ensuring accurate and efficient security measures.
Anonymization
Customers now have the option to apply pixelation at the sensor setting level to anonymize individuals in monitored spaces.
Benefits
- Adds a layer of privacy with two methods of pixelation: Grayscale and color mode.
- Once applied, anonymization cannot be undone, ensuring permanent privacy protection.
How It Works
Access camera settings via the admin tab, locate the anonymization option under Video Source Options, select a mode, and save. Review anonymization in the dashboard and monitor.
Existing Features
Stopped Vehicle
- Improved detection of stopped vehicles with extended dwell time up to 1 hour.
- Option to toggle dwell time settings between seconds and minutes.
Smoke & Fire Detection
- General improvements in the sensitivity and detection of flames and smoke.
